Senior Field Service Technician

The Lead Technical Service Engineer is tasked with overseeing intricate and extensive client sites, ensuring consistent communication and support to our valued customers. This role demands a comprehensive understanding and expertise across a variety of products. Additionally, the engineer will mentor junior team members, providing after-hours support as needed, including on-site assistance at complex technical locations.
Key Responsibilities of the Lead Technical Service Engineer:
- Provide technical assistance to colleagues, whether through remote support or on-site visits.
- Conduct monthly audits of engineering practices and report findings to the service supervisor, ensuring logbooks are accurately maintained and worksheets are clear and comprehensive.
- Perform minor repairs and fault rectifications during planned maintenance visits, supported by appropriate documentation and client instructions.
- Offer guidance, technical expertise, and coaching to peers, setting a benchmark for engineering excellence and demonstrating best practices in worksheet presentation and professional conduct.
- Support the development of trainees by mentoring them in Senseco's operational methods and reporting their progress or any concerns to the Service Supervisor.
Personal Skills of the Lead Technical Service Engineer:
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the capability to prepare detailed reports and service documentation.
- Proficient in building effective working relationships with colleagues, clients, and external partners.
- Demonstrate initiative and meticulous attention to detail, particularly in the life safety sector.
- Exhibit strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Possess excellent customer interaction skills.
Competencies of the Lead Technical Service Engineer (Fire):
- Demonstrated experience within the fire safety industry.
- Proven skills in the installation, testing, commissioning, and servicing of Fire Alarm and Security Systems.
- Exceptional diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities, capable of resolving issues through systematic elimination or technical recommendations.
- Computer literate with solid IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, along with an understanding of software programming for key products such as Morley, Advanced, and Kentec.
- Specialized knowledge and experience with a wide range of advanced equipment, including Simplex, EST, and Siemens, encompassing software configuration and programming.
