About the Role

The Mare and Foal Sanctuary is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Retail Store Manager to join our team. As a key member of our retail operations, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of our shop, ensuring that it runs smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Visual Merchandising: Develop and implement visually appealing store displays that showcase our products and create an engaging shopping experience for customers.
  2. Team Management: Lead and motivate a team of volunteers and staff, providing guidance and support to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their roles.
  3. Health and Safety: Ensure that the store is a safe and healthy environment for customers, staff, and volunteers, adhering to all relevant policies and procedures.
  4. Stock Management: Oversee the receipt, storage, and sale of stock, ensuring that it is accurately recorded and that stock levels are maintained at optimal levels.
  5. Gift Aid: Manage the gift aid process, ensuring that all donations are properly recorded and that donors are thanked and acknowledged.
  6. Administration: Maintain accurate records and reports, ensuring that all administrative tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
  7. Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring that customers have a positive and memorable experience in our store.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience in retail management, preferably in a charity or non-profit organization
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures and policies
  • Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and bank holidays
