Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Data Center Services is on the lookout for a Sustainability Compliance and Reporting Manager, who will report directly to the Energy and Sustainability Director within the Data Center Sourcing and Energy team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee Oracle Cloud's sustainability initiatives and ESG reporting, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards pertinent to the OCI cloud platform.

As part of Oracle's commitment to sustainability, we aim to achieve 100% renewable energy, reduce our global operational emissions by 50% by 2030, and attain net zero by 2050. This position is crucial as sustainability and regulatory compliance gain increasing prominence across our operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the sustainability ESG reporting and regulatory compliance strategy for Oracle Cloud's data centers across global markets, with a particular emphasis on Europe.
  • Establish and oversee sustainability requirements, utilizing knowledge of voluntary and compliance frameworks, energy forecasting, carbon accounting, and data management.
  • Develop governance processes for ESG and sustainability within OCI, recommending enhancements in metrics and reporting.
  • Lead initiatives to integrate and standardize sustainability data from OCI data centers into corporate systems.
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate changing regulatory requirements, translating them into actionable OCI standards.
  • Facilitate compliance efforts and support various audit and reporting activities.
  • Provide expertise in enhancing and executing OCI's annual greenhouse gas inventory.
  • Engage cross-functionally to assess and report on significant ESG and sustainability issues.
  • Build and maintain relationships across Oracle, including with DCS, Supply Chain Operations, and the ESG controllers office.
  • Prepare executive-level communications, including presentations and white papers, on sustainability strategies and progress.
  • Contribute to external reporting efforts, including website content and carbon dashboards.

Qualifications

  • 8-10+ years of professional experience, with 5-7+ years in sustainability or ESG management within a large organization.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, STEM, or business, with a strong technical foundation in energy and data center operations.
  • Familiarity with sustainability frameworks such as GRI, Science-based Targets, SASB, TCFD, and CDP.
  • Knowledge of compliance requirements, including SEC Climate Risk Disclosure and EU regulations.
  • Experience leading cross-functional sustainability and ESG reporting, including greenhouse gas inventories.
  • Understanding of best practices in greenhouse gas inventory management and renewable energy market instruments.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel for financial modeling and analysis of energy and carbon emissions.
  • Strong communication skills, with an executive presence and negotiation capabilities.
  • Willingness to support EMEA time zones and travel internationally as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Expertise in data center sustainability and cross-functional ESG plan execution.
  • Experience in metrics/OKR design and complex project management.
  • 1-2+ years of experience in people management.
