Position Overview: Our client, a prominent organization in the financial sector, is seeking a Finance Manager to provide exceptional reporting, forecasting, and analytical support for their indemnity schemes. The ideal candidate will have a background in insurance or financial services, along with robust financial and commercial expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering high-quality financial planning and analysis to facilitate reserving for indemnity schemes.
  • Developing and implementing financial policies and processes to ensure effective governance and management.
  • Overseeing the valuation of indemnity scheme provisions, which are vital to the organization, including the handling, modeling, and analysis of complex datasets.
  • Collaborating with actuarial advisors and other specialists to report the best estimate of scheme liabilities.
  • Managing month-end and year-end activities, while supporting various projects.
  • Creating forecasts and conducting ad hoc analyses to identify variances, trends, and risks to aid decision-making.
  • Assisting in the production of the Annual Report and Accounts (ARA) and facilitating the external audit process.
  • Contributing to reserving cycle activities and taking ownership of actions from formal working groups.

Qualifications: The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) with outstanding financial analysis, modeling, and interpretation skills. These skills will enable the organization to understand historical performance and apply insights to forecasting activities, while also recognizing trends that may influence future performance and key assumption changes. Additionally, excellent planning and organizational skills are essential, as is the ability to deliver accurate results within tight timelines in a dynamic environment.

Employment Details: This is a permanent position requiring one day a week in the office. The salary range for this role is competitive.
