Our Contract Services division comprises over 140 professionals, either based in our offices or embedded within client teams throughout the UK. We provide services to a diverse array of public and private sector clients, with a particular emphasis on central and local government, defense, transportation, and utilities.

Position Overview

In response to a surge in workload and the acquisition of new clients across both public and private sectors, we are seeking experienced Senior Procurement Consultants to join our expanding Contract Services team in the UK.

The Contract Services team includes experts in procurement strategy, claims management, and dispute resolution.

The Role:

The selected individual will collaborate with our highly skilled team to deliver top-tier strategic procurement and contract advice, encompassing comprehensive procurement services for prominent brands and exciting programs and projects. This role is integral to our growing Contract Services team and will significantly contribute to our ongoing expansion during this exciting growth phase, which includes Sustainable Procurement, Transformation, Renewables, Digital Procurement, and Net Zero Strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized procurement strategy guidance to public and private sector clients.
  • Manage and collaborate with a team on comprehensive procurement services for major projects or programs.
  • Support the enhancement of procurement services offered by Turner & Townsend.
  • Assist in business development and marketing initiatives for the Contract Services team's offerings.
  • Contribute to achieving both team and broader business objectives.
  • Aid in bid preparation and proposal documentation, enhancing the work-winning capabilities of the Contract Services team.

Qualifications:

To effectively serve our clients, we seek candidates with a combination of the following:

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in leading and/or supporting projects within a strategic procurement context.
  • Strong background in tender preparation and the development of relevant documentation across various sectors.
  • Experience in leading and/or supporting supplier engagement activities, from market engagement to contract award.
  • Familiarity with Public/Utilities Contract Regulations or equivalent across sectors.
  • Proficiency in utilizing a range of standard form contracts, including NEC and JCT, along with experience in developing terms, negotiation, and award.
  • Achievement of, or willingness to work towards, MCIPs accreditation.
  • Preferably possess a degree related to construction, civil engineering, quantity surveying, law, or procurement.
  • Ideally have experience in the Defense, Utilities, or Infrastructure sectors.
  • Valid Security Clearance (SC) or the ability to reinstate it.

Skills:

  • Ability to formulate procurement strategies within a project or program framework.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Understanding of commercial principles and modeling.
  • Experience in delivering strategies and/or developing documentation in a capital project or program environment.
