Role Overview


The Development and Alumni Relations Office (DARO) oversees the management of philanthropy, alumni engagement, and supporter communications for the University.

DARO collaborates with various colleges, academic departments, and professional services to engage a global network of over 230,000 alumni and supporters.

As part of the Advancement division, DARO, along with Marketing and Communications, plays a vital role in enhancing Durham University's global reputation as an inclusive and forward-thinking institution.


The Alumni and Supporter Engagement (ASE) team is dedicated to fostering lifelong connections within our community, enhancing engagement levels, managing volunteer contributions, and executing fundraising initiatives.

The position of Alumni and Supporter Engagement Manager (Partnerships & Projects) is situated within the ASE team, focusing on coordinating and implementing effective alumni engagement programs across the University.


This role entails acting as a liaison and coordinator for best practices in alumni and supporter engagement initiatives, working closely with colleges, faculties, and support units.


The Partnerships and Projects team will spearhead key initiatives, including managing resources for colleagues, overseeing alumni communications, and coordinating digital engagement platforms.

The successful candidate will demonstrate versatility and the ability to collaborate with senior leaders within the University.


From early 2025, the role will transition to a new professional services hub, fostering a collaborative and hybrid working environment.
