We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Development Manager to join our team at Durham University. As a key member of our Development and Alumni Relations Office, you will play a critical role in identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donations of £10,000 - £100,000.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement effective fundraising strategies to meet the University's philanthropic goals.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with major donors, trusts, and foundations to secure significant gifts.
- Collaborate with senior University leaders, prominent figures, and benefactors to advance the University's reputation and secure major donations.
- Manage and monitor the performance of fundraising activities, making recommendations for improvement.
- Provide specialist advice and guidance to colleagues and stakeholders on fundraising best practices and strategies.
- Education to degree level (or equivalent experience).
- Professional experience in fundraising, stewardship, or business development in a client-facing role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop effective working relationships.
- Strong digital competence and experience with CRM systems (preferably Raiser's Edge).
- Commitment to continuing professional development and maintaining professional recognition.
- Ability to solve problems and decide on and plan appropriate solutions.
