About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as a Laboratory Robotics Support Engineer. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical support and maintenance to our laboratory automation systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and planned improvements to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Respond to system breakdowns and loss of performance, identifying and resolving issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Provide technical support to customers, both on-site and remotely, to ensure their systems are running smoothly and efficiently.
  • Fault finding and problem-solving with support from specialist teams to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Log and document all support work according to internal guidelines to ensure accurate record-keeping and compliance.
  • Identify opportunities for upgrades and improvements to customer systems, working closely with the customer to implement changes.
  • Collaborate professionally with customers to build strong relationships and ensure their needs are met.
  • Work closely with a highly talented and multifunctional team to achieve common goals and objectives.
  • Embody Labman's values and behaviors, demonstrating a commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Knowledge and appreciation of science and technology, with a degree or apprenticeship in a relevant field such as mechanical, electrical, mechatronic, robotics, or software engineering.
  • Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills, including decision-making, clear communication, research, and analysis skills.
  • Competency in IT and Microsoft Teams, Excel, and Word.
  • Able to commute daily to the Materials Innovation Factory, Liverpool.
  • Willing to travel to Labman's HQ in North Yorkshire for training and development.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and prioritize work.
  • Works well within a team, both in person and remotely.
  • Customer-oriented and positive attitude.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Driving license.
Desirable Skills/Experience
  • Experience in a customer-facing role.
  • Electromechanical system diagnostics experience.
  • CAD experience.
