About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Robotics Systems Engineer to join our team at Torque Consulting. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a crucial role in the development and integration of robotics software and hardware for various systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in the installation and commissioning team at customer sites, ensuring seamless integration of robotic systems.
  • Lead commissioning activities, overseeing the setup and testing of complex robotic systems.
  • Perform Factory and Site Acceptance Tests, verifying the performance and reliability of robotic systems.
  • Design and develop robotic systems and software applications tailored to client needs, leveraging expertise in Kuka KRL and other industrial robot manipulators.
  • Integrate operation systems and troubleshoot common software/hardware issues in complex robotic systems and overall electric-mechanical drive system components.
  • Collaborate with clients to gather requirements and provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring successful project outcomes.
  • Program and configure robots, controllers, and associated equipment, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Perform system integration, testing, and troubleshooting to ensure performance and reliability, identifying and resolving issues in integrated systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues in integrated systems, applying knowledge of robotics kinematics, motion control, and multi-robot coordination.
  • Work with the service and maintenance team to provide post-installation support services, ensuring ongoing system performance and reliability.
  • Support development activities for consecutive projects, contributing to the growth and success of our engineering team.
  • Participate in system and process development as part of the design team, driving innovation and improvement in robotic systems.
  • Contribute to Hazard Identification, Risk Assessments, and RAMS within a multi-disciplined team, ensuring a safe and responsible work environment.
  • Contribute to system documentation, O&M manuals, flow diagrams, and other technical documentation, ensuring clear and accurate information for stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Degree in Mechanical/Mechatronics/Robotics Engineering/Computer Science/Electronics or similar engineering disciplines, or equivalent time-served experience.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of machinery systems, including hardware and software components.
  • Familiarity with industrial robot manipulators (e.g., KUKA, ABB, Universal Robots) and ability to interface with and program these robots.
  • Strong programming skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, peers, and senior-level leaders.
  • Effective collaboration with customers, peers, and senior-level leaders, with strong problem-solving abilities, both independently and in a team.
  • Organizational skills for completing a variety of tasks and assignments effectively, with excellent communication skills for conveying information clearly in both verbal and written formats.
  • Ability to safely drive own or company vehicles to perform duties, with a valid driver's license.
