Mental Health Practitioner for Children and Families

Compass is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Practitioner to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting the emotional well-being of children, young people, and their families.
As a Mental Health Practitioner, you will provide individual therapeutic interventions, conduct group parenting programs, and collaborate with educational staff to promote mental health awareness within schools. Your expertise will be instrumental in assessing risk, mitigating potential harm, and guiding families through challenging situations.
Responsibilities:- Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including CBT and Solution Focused Brief Therapy, to children, young people, and their families.
- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments of children and young people, identifying areas of need and developing tailored treatment plans.
- Facilitate group parenting programs, equipping parents with the skills and knowledge to support their children's emotional well-being.
- Collaborate with educational staff to raise awareness about mental health issues within schools and create a supportive learning environment.
- Effectively manage a caseload of sensitive and potentially emotionally distressing cases, demonstrating empathy and resilience.
- Maintain accurate records of client progress and interventions, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to ethical guidelines.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A relevant qualification in mental health practice (e.g., BSc Psychology, MSc Counselling).
- Experience working with children and families in a healthcare or educational setting.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding issues and child protection procedures.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and best practice.
