Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinical Biochemistry Specialist Biomedical Scientist to join our esteemed Pathology department. This role presents a unique opportunity to contribute to the advancement of laboratory services and patient care.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Operate within a state-of-the-art laboratory environment, utilizing advanced technologies to support both local hospitals and the broader community.
  • Engage in the transition to a new, purpose-built laboratory, enhancing service delivery and operational efficiency.
  • Conduct a diverse range of specialized clinical investigations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in results.
  • Demonstrate leadership by supervising junior staff and fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Maintain compliance with accreditation standards and contribute to quality assurance processes.

Qualifications and Experience

To be eligible for this position, candidates must possess:

  • A degree in biomedical sciences or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Registration as a biomedical scientist with relevant post-registration experience in Clinical Biochemistry.
  • Completion of the IBMS Specialist Portfolio (for those registered post-2006) or progress towards it under Annex 21.
  • Strong competencies in complex laboratory procedures and a commitment to continuous professional development.
