Clinical Biochemist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Scientist to join our Biochemical Genetics Laboratory team at Leeds Teaching Hospitals. As a Senior Scientist, you will play a key role in the provision of scientific services and clinical advisory services in the areas of Newborn Bloodspot and Foetal Anomaly Screening.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain specialised knowledge in Newborn Bloodspot and Foetal Anomaly Screening.
- Take responsibility for the provision of scientific services and clinical advisory services within these areas.
- Contribute to the development of services in the above area.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and professionally with clinical colleagues.
- Desirable: experience in Newborn Bloodspot or Foetal Anomaly Screening or Biochemical Genetics laboratory, and experience of using techniques/analysers such as LC-MS/MS, GC-MS, AutoDELFIA, HPLC.
- HCPC registration as a Clinical Scientist (or close to obtaining registration).
- Masters Degree in Biochemistry or Clinical Biochemistry.
- Desirable: relevant PhD.
