About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Biomedical Scientist to join our Cellular Pathology Department at Leeds Teaching Hospitals. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering a high-quality, patient-focused service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Examine pathological samples using various technologies and report or present results as appropriate.
  • Work in different sections of the department to gain knowledge and skills necessary to contribute towards the provision of an accurate and timely service for patients.
  • Apply professional judgments and specialist skills to technically complex and sometimes difficult situations.
  • Communicate information, often related to patient management and care, to colleagues, healthcare staff, and other organizations.
About Us

Our department provides a range of services, including Histopathology, Andrology, Immunohistochemistry, Muscle, Molecular, Non-Gynae Cytology, and mortuary services. We are a well-equipped and innovative department, with a strong focus on quality and patient care.

Requirements
  • HCPC Registration as a Biomedical Scientist.
  • IBMS approved degree.
  • Evidence of participation in Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Computer literate.
  • Independent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Good concentration and accurate working.
  • Manual dexterity.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Team worker.
Working Conditions

The post holder will work in a clinical laboratory environment, with exposure to potentially infectious pathological samples on a daily basis. The role will involve light to moderate physical effort, with occasional exposure to other risks, such as chemical hazards.
