We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Biomedical Scientist to join our team at Leeds Teaching Hospitals. As a key member of our Cellular Pathology department, you will play a vital role in delivering a high-quality, patient-focused service.
Key Responsibilities- Examine pathological samples using various technologies and report or present results as appropriate.
- Work in different sections of the department to gain knowledge and skills necessary to contribute towards the provision of an accurate and timely service for patients.
- Apply professional judgments and specialist skills to technically complex and sometimes difficult situations.
- Communicate information, often related to patient management and care, to colleagues, healthcare staff, and other organizations.
Our department provides a range of services, including Histopathology, Andrology, Immunohistochemistry, Muscle, Molecular, Non-Gynae Cytology, and mortuary services. We are a well-equipped and innovative department, with a strong focus on quality and patient care.
Requirements- HCPC Registration as a Biomedical Scientist.
- IBMS approved degree.
- Evidence of participation in Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
- Excellent communication skills.
- Computer literacy.
- Independent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Good concentration and accurate working.
- Manual dexterity.
- Attention to detail.
- Team worker.
The post holder will work in a clinical laboratory environment, handling chemical and biohazardous materials. They will be required to wear personal protective equipment and receive training. The role may involve frequent periods of light and occasional periods of moderate physical activity.
