Overview

The Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) specializes in providing expert security guidance, compliance, and assurance to public sector entities that demand the utmost security measures. As the leading provider for the Government, we focus on the design, installation, and maintenance of tailored in-house security systems as well as highly accredited commercial products across government facilities.

As part of a dedicated team of 230 professionals, we deliver comprehensive life support services to UK Defence and Government locations both domestically and internationally.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment Oversight:

Lead the comprehensive recruitment process by:
  • Collaborating with line managers to ensure job descriptions and advertising templates are current and standardized.
  • Assisting in drafting and submitting recruitment requests on relevant online platforms.
  • Serving as the primary contact for career transition initiatives, particularly for those exiting the armed forces.
  • Supporting line managers throughout the selection and interview processes.
  • Coordinating with recruitment and onboarding teams to facilitate smooth transitions for new hires.
  • Working with senior management to identify workforce needs and develop strategies for attracting and retaining talent.
Strategic Workforce Planning:

This role will spearhead the development of a workforce model for our organization:
  • Regularly reviewing and updating the existing workforce model to assist in forecasting future staffing needs.
  • Evaluating current and alternative workforce models to enhance or introduce new strategies as necessary.
  • Providing strategic advice and influencing decision-making at the business and directorate levels.
  • Building strong relationships with workforce planning leads to ensure alignment with ongoing initiatives.
Management Information:

Ensure the regular maintenance and communication of critical business information, including:
  • Mandatory training compliance.
  • Organizational charts and nominal roll updates.
  • Preparation of ad hoc reports as required.
  • Contributions to monthly performance reviews and leadership presentations.
Workforce Support:

This position requires a solid understanding of HR principles and the ability to foster effective relationships across all organizational levels. Responsibilities include:
  • Acting as the primary contact for HR-related inquiries and workforce issues.
  • Partnering with line managers to address employee concerns and ensure adherence to policies.
  • Leading annual reviews of market skills allowances.
  • Maintaining oversight of responsibility allowances and financial reviews.
  • Serving as a member and secretary for the HR Working Group.
