Overview

The Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) specializes in providing expert security guidance, compliance, and assurance to sectors of the public domain that necessitate top-tier security measures. As the Government's premier provider, we focus on the design, installation, and upkeep of both bespoke in-house security systems and highly accredited commercial solutions across government properties.

As part of a dedicated team of 230 professionals, we deliver comprehensive life support services to UK Defence and Government locations both domestically and internationally.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment Leadership:

Oversee the complete recruitment lifecycle:
  • Collaborate with line managers to ensure all job descriptions and advertising templates are up-to-date and standardized.
  • In partnership with line managers, draft and submit recruitment requests on the appropriate online platforms.
  • Act as the primary contact for the Career Transition Partnership, including posting new job openings to reach transitioning armed forces personnel.
  • Assist line managers throughout the selection and interview processes.
  • Coordinate with Defence Business Services recruiting and onboarding teams.
  • Work alongside line managers to facilitate the effective onboarding and integration of new hires.
  • Engage with senior management to identify workforce requirements and devise strategies for attracting and retaining exceptional talent.
Strategic Workforce Planning:

Lead the development of a workforce model for the DIO:
  • Ensure the accuracy of the existing workforce model used for forecasting future staffing needs.
  • Evaluate current and alternative workforce models to identify opportunities for enhancement or innovation.
  • Provide strategic workforce planning advice and influence at both business and directorate levels, supporting organizational change initiatives.
  • Establish strong connections with Workforce Planning leads across the Security Directorate to align efforts.
Management Information:

Maintain and communicate essential business information, including:
  • Mandatory training compliance.
  • Nominal roll updates.
  • Organizational charts (utilizing MS Visio).
  • Ad hoc reporting as necessary, such as annual report completions and leave balances.
  • Contributions to monthly Customer Delivery Committee reports.
  • Input for monthly Security Directorate Senior Leaders Team presentations.
Workforce Support:

This role requires a solid understanding of MoD CivHR principles and the ability to cultivate effective relationships with stakeholders at all organizational levels. Responsibilities include:
  • Serve as the primary contact for day-to-day workforce inquiries with the DIO's HR Business Partner.
  • Collaborate with line managers to address employee concerns and ensure adherence to company policies.
  • Lead the annual review of the Market Skills Allowance in conjunction with the HR Business Partner.
  • Manage the responsibility allowances tracker and financial reviews.
  • Act as a member and secretary for the DIO's HR Working Group.

Some roles may offer a blend of office and remote work, subject to business needs. This is a non-contractual arrangement, with a minimum expectation of 60% office attendance. Further details can be discussed with the Vacancy Holder.
