Strategic Sourcing Specialist

About the Role
GE Aviation is seeking a highly skilled Strategic Sourcing Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for formulating and executing commodity strategies that drive business performance and deliver value to our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Commodity Strategy Development
Develop and implement commodity strategies that align with GE Aviation's business objectives, leveraging historical data, future project demand, and other key indicators.
Supplier ManagementLead the execution of local sourcing strategies, driving strategic supplier initiatives, selection, development, and consolidation to ensure optimal business performance.
Purchase Base ExecutionExecute across the purchase base, with full accountability for meeting deflation (savings), usage, cash, and preferred supplier targets.
Cost Analysis and NegotiationCarry out in-depth cost breakdown analysis and negotiate lowest Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) within the local and global supply base.
Supplier Contract NegotiationWork with legal teams to negotiate supplier contracts, ensuring alignment with GE Aviation's policies and procedures.
Risk Mitigation and Supplier OnboardingManage and lead risk mitigation plans for assigned commodities and identify, select, develop, audit, and onboard new suppliers.
Bidding and Supplier DevelopmentSupport the bidding team with RFQs, ensuring lowest possible TCO and lead times, and identify opportunities to develop and improve supplier relationships.
Make vs. Buy Decision MetricsLead the analysis of make vs. buy decision metrics, ensuring alignment with GE Aviation's business objectives.
Supplier Performance ReviewUndertake continuous review of supplier performance against quality, cost, delivery, and risk metrics (Supplier Scorecard) to ensure best-in-class supply chain performance.
Supplier Business Reviews and Sourcing Board ReviewsLead Supplier Business Reviews to build strategic relationships with preferred suppliers and lead Sourcing Board Reviews for commodity strategy and project sourcing strategy.
Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ) MetricsDrive lowest cost of poor quality (CoPQ) metrics, working closely with SQIE to ensure alignment with GE Aviation's business objectives.
Warranty and ComplianceSupport the warranty team in resolving customer issues and improving processes and products, ensuring compliance with GE Aviation's policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in a technical or engineering field or CIPS (desirable). Relevant experience in manufacturing or engineering environments.
Skills and AbilitiesAbility to develop sourcing strategies, understand legal terms and contract negotiation, and communicate effectively at all levels.
Desired CharacteristicsDesire to grow, improve, innovate, and add value, with strong interpersonal and leadership skills, analytic capabilities, and operating rigor.
