Role OverviewThe primary objective of this position is to facilitate the timely procurement of components and services essential for locomotive maintenance. This role offers the chance to broaden your expertise and enhance your skill set.
In this capacity, you will collaborate with key stakeholders across various departments, including Finance, Commercial, Production, Engineering, and Procurement. Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers while managing pricing strategies will be crucial to your success.
Key Responsibilities- Solicit quotations and process requisitions for services and spare parts.
- Manage the acknowledgment and processing of service receipts.
- Maintain and validate Purchase Order Numbers and Supplier Invoices.
- Resolve any invoice discrepancies effectively.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and reporting activities.
- Oversee the repairable asset inventory in alignment with maintenance needs.
- Generate work orders as necessary.
- Ensure timely procurement of parts and services to support maintenance schedules.
- Review contractor work sheets and address any uncertainties with the engineering team.
- Perform general administrative duties.
- Foster positive relationships with suppliers while managing pricing indices.
- Establish and oversee stock balance loads to support maintenance operations.
- Anticipate future stock needs considering lead times and quantities.
- Self-driven and dependable with a proactive, professional demeanor.
- Detail-oriented with a strong inquisitive nature.
- Ability to think strategically and see the bigger picture.
- Resourceful with a positive, can-do attitude.
