We are seeking experienced Project Managers to join our forward-thinking team. While a background in insurance is not essential, candidates should possess substantial project management expertise in areas such as digital transformation, agile methodologies, integration, data migration, business readiness, or regulatory changes.

This position is well-suited for individuals who have navigated the initial phases of projects, including vendor selection through an RFP process. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential for engaging with project stakeholders, clarifying objectives, and translating these into actionable deliverables.

About the Role:

As the Principal Project Management Specialist, you will oversee projects that align with Aviva's strategic objectives by effectively implementing change and enhancing customer experiences. Your responsibilities will include developing comprehensive delivery plans, identifying and managing dependencies and risks, and providing regular updates and reports to senior leadership.

In this role, you will minimize risks by identifying potential delivery and operational challenges and devising mitigation strategies. You will lead large internal and external teams, as well as third-party suppliers, within a matrix environment. Additionally, you will influence and engage stakeholders at the C-suite level. You will manage a budget of up to £5 million, ensuring accurate forecasting and monitoring.

Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Proven experience leading complex technology and business transformation projects with annual budgets up to £5 million.
  • Confidence in managing high-profile projects with multiple workstreams throughout all phases of the project lifecycle.
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders to drive strategic changes, with a track record of managing multiple third-party suppliers.
  • Proficient in monitoring and reporting on project progress, ensuring compliance with project plans, and managing changes to scope, schedule, and costs through appropriate governance.
  • Demonstrated experience in contributing to a broader project community, supporting initiatives aimed at enhancing efficiency in change delivery, and embodying exemplary professional behaviors.
