Children's Physiotherapy Specialist
Position Overview
An exceptional opportunity has emerged for a Band 6 specialized Physiotherapist to become a part of our extensive and vibrant team at County Durham & Darlington NHS Foundation Trust.
The Children's Physiotherapy department within our organization is segmented into three key areas: community services, special educational institutions, and outpatient care.
The successful candidate will engage in a structured annual rotation plan encompassing these three service domains.
This role is ideal for a therapist who is innovative, motivated, and eager to enhance the lives and outcomes of children and adolescents. The post holder will receive robust support from our seasoned team and will be encouraged to further develop their clinical skills and knowledge across all facets of pediatric physiotherapy.
The ideal applicant will hold registration as a Physiotherapist with the HCPC and will be able to showcase outstanding communication abilities, established problem-solving skills, and a collaborative team-oriented approach.
While prior pediatric experience is preferred, we are open to considering Physiotherapists with backgrounds in adult outpatient care or neurology who are interested in transitioning to pediatrics, as comprehensive training and support will be provided. Experience gained during student placements will also be taken into account.
Main Responsibilities
In addition to the summary below, please ensure you review the complete job description and person specification.
1. Conduct physiotherapy assessments and interventions for children and young individuals with varied presentations and complex conditions in musculoskeletal and/or neurodevelopmental areas.
2. Maintain a clinical caseload of children and young individuals aged 0-19 years, functioning as an independent practitioner.
3. Actively engage in clinical supervision and training for the broader team.
4. Take responsibility for organizing and prioritizing personal and team workloads across the service.
About Our Organization
As part of the interview process, candidates must confirm their interview slot in the system, even if previously arranged with the hiring manager.
Candidates must be able to present ALL essential certificates as outlined in the person specification to complete pre-employment checks.
We provide healthcare services from two main acute facilities and have a center for planned care, along with community hospitals and numerous other community-based settings.
We particularly encourage applications from disabled individuals and candidates from Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic (BAME) backgrounds, as these groups are currently underrepresented within our workforce.
For healthcare roles that do not meet the minimum salary threshold, we are unable to offer sponsorship. Applicants must possess the Right to Work in the United Kingdom.
