County Durham & Darlington NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Physiotherapist Specialist to join our Community Stroke Rehabilitation team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert physiotherapy services to patients with stroke-related disabilities, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
Main Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for patients with stroke-related disabilities.
- Provide expert physiotherapy services, including exercise programs, manual therapy, and education, to patients in their own homes and outpatient settings.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, and medical professionals, to ensure comprehensive care and optimal patient outcomes.
- Supervise and mentor junior staff members, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Participate in clinical governance procedures, including incident reporting, quality improvement initiatives, and professional development activities.
- HCPC registered Physiotherapist with a BSc/MSc in Physiotherapy or equivalent.
- Experience in physical rehabilitation, including recent general rehabilitation experience and experience working in multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, carers, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to travel and carry small items of equipment on a daily basis.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education.
- Member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP).
- Experience in staff appraisal and clinical supervision.
- Ability to use own initiative to enhance service delivery and presentational skills.
- Competent IT skills, including electronic record keeping and email communication.
