Job Title: Specialist Physiotherapist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Physiotherapist to join our Community Stroke Rehabilitation team in County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will work alongside a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality stroke rehabilitation services to patients in their own homes and outpatient settings.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive neuro assessments with patients in their own environments, identifying goals and creating exercise programs to optimize rehabilitation.
  • Supervise and contribute to the development of clinical activities within the team, ensuring effective use of resources and adherence to clinical governance procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, carers, and multidisciplinary teams to maximize rehabilitation potential and ensure understanding of patient conditions.
  • Participate in the recruitment, selection, induction, and retention of staff, ensuring an appropriate skill mix and developing skills in line with changing patient needs.
  • Contribute to the provision of flexible and timely services, managing workload and prioritizing tasks to meet service demands.
Requirements:
  • Comprehensive and relevant qualified experience in physical rehabilitation, including recent general rehabilitation experience.
  • Experience of collaborative working within multidisciplinary teams and evidence of communication skills within a wide variety of settings.
  • Ability to travel and carry small items of equipment on a daily basis, with a commitment to working flexibly within a multidisciplinary service.
  • HCPC registered Physiotherapist with a BSc/MSc in Physiotherapy or equivalent, and evidence of Continuous Professional Development.
