Job Summary

County Durham & Darlington NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled Physiotherapist Specialist to join our Community Stroke Rehabilitation team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality physiotherapy services to patients in their own homes and out-patient settings.

Main Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive neuro assessments with patients in their own environments, identifying goals and creating exercise programs to optimize rehabilitation.
  • Supervise and support other team members, contributing to the development of clinical skills and knowledge.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with medical, nursing, and therapy colleagues.
  • Manage and prioritize workload, delegating tasks as necessary to ensure efficient service delivery.
  • Develop and maintain empathetic relationships with patients and carers, providing sensitive and emotional support throughout the rehabilitation process.
Requirements
  • HCPC registered Physiotherapist with a BSc/MSc in Physiotherapy or equivalent.
  • Comprehensive and relevant qualified experience in physical rehabilitation, including recent general rehabilitation experience.
  • Ability to travel and carry small items of equipment on a daily basis.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to remain updated with professional practice and new research, with a strong understanding of clinical governance and its implications for services.
