About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Door Ambassador to join our team at W Edinburgh. As a Door Ambassador, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, providing a warm and welcoming experience that sets the tone for their stay.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and escort guests to their rooms, ensuring a smooth and efficient check-in process.
  • Open doors and assist guests and visitors entering and leaving the property, providing a safe and secure environment.
  • Assist with luggage, storage, and retrieval, ensuring that guests' belongings are handled with care.
  • Supply guests with directions and information about the hotel and local area, enhancing their overall experience.
  • Arrange transportation for guests and visitors, providing a convenient and hassle-free service.
  • Communicate parking procedures with guests and visitors, ensuring that they are aware of the options available.
  • Be a W brand ambassador, embodying the brand's values and spirit in all interactions with guests.
  • Follow company policies and procedures in reporting accidents and injuries, maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
  • Maintain awareness of undesirable persons on property premises, ensuring the safety and security of guests and staff.
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional, representing the hotel in a positive light.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information shared by guests, respecting their trust and privacy.
  • Welcome, acknowledge, anticipate, and address guests' needs, providing exceptional customer service.
  • Speak using clear and professional language, using appropriate etiquette and tone.
  • Use proper manual handling techniques when assisting with luggage, ensuring that guests' belongings are handled with care.
  • Assist with valet parking when required, driving license required.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties requested by the Manager, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.

We are looking for a Door Ambassador who has:

  • A keen eye for detail, ensuring that every interaction with guests is seamless and efficient.
  • Strong organization and multi-tasking skills, handling multiple tasks and responsibilities with ease.
  • Confidence interacting with guests, providing a warm and welcoming experience.
  • Good communication skills, using clear and professional language to communicate with guests and colleagues.
  • A positive mindset, embodying the W brand's values and spirit in all interactions.
  • A genuine passion for working in hospitality, delivering exceptional customer service and creating memorable experiences.

About Us

W Edinburgh will bring bold architecture and a vibrant lifestyle offering to the Scottish capital. Behind a façade featuring a winding steel ribbon – reflecting the city's festival spirit – this 12-storey structure will be the centerpiece of Nuveen Real Estate's Edinburgh St James Quarter, incorporating retail, leisure, and entertainment facilities along with residential apartments.

This W hotel aims to help redefine the city's hospitality landscape. Accordingly, it'll fuse the brand's signature amenities with modern design and W Happenings, highlighting what's new in design, fashion, music, and culture.

The new W hotel will accommodate guests across 244 stylish guestrooms, including 45 suites. While staying here, guests will benefit from the brand's signature Whatever / Whenever service philosophy.

A real highlight of this property will be its rooftop bar and outdoor terrace, pairing exciting cocktails and cuisine with 360-degree views over the historic city. Among the other noteworthy amenities planned are the W Lounge, a restaurant collaboration with SUSHISAMBA, a FIT workout facility, and an AWAY spa, with special functions hosted in 2,450 sq ft of modern event space.
