About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Adult Social Care Solicitor to join our team at Venn Group. As a Senior Adult Social Care Solicitor, you will be responsible for providing expert legal advice on social care matters to clients on behalf of the Council.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide detailed, accurate advice on the Council's responsibilities under the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Health and Social Care Act 2008, and Mental Health Act 1983.
  • Submit applications to the Court of Protection and High Court, including COP applications for Deputyship, welfare and best interests, deprivations of liberty, s21a challenges, and judicial review.
  • Provide legal advice and support across a broad range of areas, including ordinary residence, Data Protection and Freedom of Information, safeguarding, provider failure, section 117 aftercare, and 16–17-year-old Deprivation of liberty cases.
Requirements
  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or CILEx with significant experience in providing legal advice on Adult Social Care.
  • Motivated to protect and defend vulnerable members of the community and make a difference.
  • Experience in a Local Authority setting is desirable but not essential.
