About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our Adult Social Care team in Essex County Council. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in supporting adults with complex needs to achieve their goals and improve their quality of life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of adults with complex needs to identify their strengths, weaknesses, and goals.
  • Develop and implement personalized care plans to support adults in achieving their goals and improving their quality of life.
  • Work collaboratively with other professionals, including social workers, nurses, and carers, to ensure a holistic approach to care.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to adults, families, and carers on occupational therapy interventions and strategies.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to occupational therapy in Adult Social Care.
Requirements
  • Degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy or equivalent qualification.
  • Current Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration.
  • Experience of occupational therapy in a social care setting, with a strong understanding of current legislation, regulations, and guidance.
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with partner agencies and the local community to provide a supportive framework for vulnerable adults.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with adults, families, and carers.
