About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team in Adult Social Care at Essex County Council. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in supporting vulnerable adults to maintain their independence and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and develop care plans for adults with complex needs, working closely with multi-agency teams to ensure comprehensive support.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to colleagues, families, and carers on occupational therapy practices and principles.
  • Conduct home visits and assessments to identify individuals' needs and develop tailored support plans.
  • Collaborate with other professionals to ensure seamless delivery of services and effective outcomes.
  • Stay up-to-date with current legislation, regulations, and guidance, applying this knowledge to inform practice and decision-making.
Requirements
  • Hold a degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy or equivalent qualification.
  • Be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Have experience of working with vulnerable adults, with a strong understanding of occupational therapy principles and practices.
  • Be able to develop strong relationships with partner agencies and the local community to provide a supportive framework for vulnerable adults.
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of the financial implications of commissioned care packages.
  • Be able to make clear decisions, highlighting and limiting potential risks associated with intervention.
