Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join our team at Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust. As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will play a key role in the assessment, treatment, and clinical management of patients with complex, acute, and chronic presentations.

Main Responsibilities
  • Undertake comprehensive assessments of patients with complex health and social care needs, using specialist assessment of all aspects of occupational performance.
  • Develop and implement collaborative treatment programmes with patients, carers, and colleagues, demonstrating client-centred reasoning and specialist problem-solving techniques.
  • Implement occupational therapy interventions to enable individuals to achieve their optimum level of independence.
  • Evaluate patient progress, reassess, and review treatment programmes as required, through the monitoring of medical and rehabilitation needs.
  • Supervise junior staff and assistants to plan their work effectively.
  • Identify and undertake routine and complex risk assessments, both of environmental and individual case management.
