Occupational Therapist Role in Adult Social Care

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team in Adult Social Care at Essex County Council. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in supporting vulnerable adults to maintain their independence and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities- Assess and develop care plans for adults with complex needs, working closely with clients, families, and other professionals to ensure holistic support.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on occupational therapy interventions, including equipment and adaptations to support daily living.
- Collaborate with other teams, such as housing and community services, to ensure a comprehensive approach to supporting adults with complex needs.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with partner agencies and the local community to provide a supportive framework for vulnerable adults.
- Contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to occupational therapy practice, ensuring they are evidence-based and aligned with current legislation and regulations.
- Degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy, or equivalent qualification, with current Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration.
- Experience of occupational therapy practice, with a strong understanding of current legislation, regulations, and guidance.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing demands.
- Ability to travel around Essex, with a driving license and car, or alternative means of transportation.
