Buckinghamshire Recovery College Coordinator

Job Overview:
The Buckinghamshire Recovery College is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to be responsible for the smooth operation and day-to-day running of the college. This post will work closely with the Recovery College Lead to ensure that the college meets the needs of the local community of Buckinghamshire.
Main Duties:
- Work closely with the Lead to ensure the smooth operation of the college.
- Liaise with lived experience Tutors and professional tutors to devise a timetable for the college while adhering to all principles of co-production.
- Support the Lead in the development of the college as it moves to sit within the Primary Care Mental Health Hubs (PCMHH) and straddles both primary and secondary care services and offers a wider remit.
- Review and evaluate the college to ensure it is meeting the needs of the local community and to make improvements where possible.
- Work closely with the Lead to ensure all aspects of the service delivery are underpinned by the principles of co-production and personal recovery.
- With the support of the Lead, ensure that access to the college is continually reviewed and improved.
- Carry out 1:1 meetings as appropriate with students to discuss goals, complete individual learning plans, and identify any potential barriers to attending the college.
- Co-produce and co-facilitate high-quality recovery-focused courses that are informative, inclusive, and culturally sensitive.
- Build strong links and relationships with the VCSE and local community organizations and services.
- Take responsibility to identify resources for the college and work closely with the College Administrator to ensure courses have appropriate resources required.

Detailed Job Description and Main Responsibilities:
The Recovery College Clinical Coordinator will be responsible for the smooth operation and day-to-day running of the Buckinghamshire Recovery College. This post includes the development and delivery of co-produced educational workshops and courses for students, staff, relatives, Carers, and the Public. The post holder will take responsibility to evaluate the courses delivered and devise a co-produced course timetable that meets the needs of the wider community of Buckinghamshire.
You will be responsible to, and work closely with the Buckinghamshire Recovery College Lead, for the overall delivery of the College. This is to ensure the effective development and implementation of the Recovery College for the local community of Buckinghamshire, as it moves to sit within the mental health primary care hubs (PCMHH). This includes developing and building strong relationships with health professionals, external agencies such as the voluntary, community, and social enterprise sector (VCSE) and, community services and organizations, to form strong partnerships and further expand the college remit.
Person Specification:
Qualifications:
- Higher Education qualification (i.e., Degree standard).
- Previous significant experience working within a Recovery College or educational setting.
- Evidence of recent personal and professional CPD.
- Completion of additional short courses in relevant fields such as education/training/teaching in mental health fields.
Desirable Criteria:
- Professional qualification relevant in Mental health (OT/RMN/SW or other relevant).
- Further relevant training to a postgraduate/registration level, or equivalent experience in a related field.
- Training/teaching qualification.
Knowledge:
Essential Criteria:
- Knowledge and experience of working in a Recovery College setting.
- Knowledge and understanding of Co-production in action.
- Understanding of the values & principles of the Recovery Model and Recovery College.
- Knowledge and understanding of co-production principles.
- Knowledge and understanding of working within a healthcare/mental health setting.
Desirable Criteria:
- Data analysis and interpretation skills.
- Proven experience in office management and experience of managing staff.
- Knowledge of project management or information analysis.
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Experience:
Essential Criteria:
- Experience of working in a mental health setting or personal/family experience of own mental health illness.
- Experience of Recovery College settings – either working/attending etc.
- Demonstrate experience in developing and delivering Recovery Focused, educational courses and workshops for service users, staff, and public.
- Experience of working, collaboratively with service users to assess recovery needs, develop student action plans, and review progress.
- Experience of co-production.
Desirable Criteria:
- Previous experience of working as a peer support worker/peer trainer.
Skills:
Essential Criteria:
- Ability to work to deadlines and prioritize a heavy workload, always ensuring attention to detail.
- Good verbal and written communication skills/strong facilitation skills.
- Demonstrate the ability to show Empathy, Kindness, and be calm and confident under pressure.
- Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of equality and diversity issues and the ability to integrate into Recovery Service policies and practices.
- Able to work effectively within a team environment.
- Ability to liaise with all professionals and levels in a confident and effective manner.
Desirable Criteria:
- Personal experience of using Mental Health services as a carer or a service user.
- Further training in teaching/facilitation skills.
Additional Information:
- All new starters have a 6-month probationary period. This, together with the induction process, aims to create a positive supportive working environment allowing new employees to learn key elements of their role over a reasonable timescale.
