Job Summary

Shaw Trust is seeking a skilled Custody Support Specialist to join our team in delivering the HMPPS Creating Future Opportunities (CFO) programme in London. As a Custody Support Specialist, you will provide high-quality support and guidance to participants, helping them to break down barriers to successful resettlement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized support to participants, helping them to enhance their skills and find sustainable employment opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and implement effective resettlement plans.
  • Conduct regular assessments to identify participants' needs and develop strategies to address them.
  • Build relationships with local employers to secure job opportunities for participants.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of resettlement plans and make recommendations for improvement.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of the barriers faced by prisoners or prison leavers to reintegrate into society.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including active listening and motivational skills.
  • Proactive and solution-focused approach.
  • Awareness, understanding, and commitment to the protection and safeguarding of young people and vulnerable adults.
  • Ability to pass a Disclosure and Barring Service Check at an enhanced level and successfully pass prison vetting.
