Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Human Resources Assistant to support a secondary educational institution in Liverpool.

This position is designed to provide comprehensive HR support and will encompass a variety of responsibilities.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with management to create job descriptions, person specifications, and recruitment advertisements.
  • Assist in enhancing interview techniques and guiding the interview process.
  • Facilitate the onboarding process for new employees.
  • Work with management to ensure adherence to the probationary period policy.
  • Guide and advise on the performance appraisal process.
  • Support managers with disciplinary and grievance matters, offering necessary guidance.
  • Monitor and review individual sickness absence, escalating issues as needed according to the established Sickness Absence Policy.
  • Provide assistance regarding employment policies, including maternity and paternity leave.
  • Contribute to the development and updating of HR policies to ensure compliance and relevance.
  • Handle payroll administration tasks as required.
  • Manage the recruitment process, including organizing interview days and ensuring necessary clearances.
  • Oversee the absence management process by accurately logging absences and notifying relevant staff.
  • Maintain employee records with a focus on confidentiality.
  • Generate reports for management related to absence, contracts, and recruitment.
  • Ensure the accuracy of information in the HR management system for workforce census purposes.
  • Implement and monitor HR policies and processes, providing feedback on their effectiveness.
  • Maintain an organized filing system for HR documentation.
  • Handle all HR-related administrative tasks efficiently.
  • Regularly update and manage the Single Central Register.
  • Organize and document meetings as necessary.
  • Collaborate with the broader Academy Administration Team.

Essential Qualifications:
  • Experience in Human Resources.
  • Enhanced Child workforce DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
  • Complete 10-year employment history.
  • At least two references, including the most recent employer.
  • Legal authorization to work in the UK.
