Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, employing a blend of psychosocial and clinical strategies. This position offers numerous opportunities for skill enhancement and is ideal for nurses aiming to expand their knowledge in caring for high-risk adults with complex needs. We prioritize effective teamwork and regular interdisciplinary meetings to foster learning and development within our team.

  • Deliver interventions and support for individuals dealing with substance use issues as part of a comprehensive recovery plan. This may involve triage, assessments, administration of medications, group facilitation, and one-on-one key working.
  • Collaborate with other professionals and agencies in the planning and execution of nursing care.
  • Advocate for the health and well-being of clients while maintaining a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment that minimizes risks.
  • Ensure strict adherence to policies and procedures related to service delivery.
  • Conduct initial health assessments, including mental health and substance use history.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate care programs tailored to meet the needs of each patient, including detailed plans for transition and discharge, coordinating with other agencies as necessary.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in urine/saliva testing, interpreting results, and reporting any unexpected findings to the senior nurse on duty.
  • Facilitate group activities as part of the therapeutic process.
  • Conduct risk assessments, paying close attention to any safeguarding concerns.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate is motivated to deliver high-quality clinical assessments and treatments to individuals with substance dependencies, showcasing the ability to provide exceptional nursing care and interventions while demonstrating leadership capabilities. A flexible and proactive approach to work is essential, along with a commitment to delivering outstanding care to our clients.

  • Strong assessment skills, including a solid understanding of risk assessments.
  • Ability to treat service users with respect and dignity, employing a culturally sensitive approach that considers the holistic needs of each individual.
  • Knowledge of medication administration, including the safe handling and storage of controlled substances.
  • A degree or advanced diploma in nursing (RGN, RMN, or RNLD) with current UK registration.
