Position: Manager of Investment Solutions

The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) is a leading multilateral development institution dedicated to financing sustainable infrastructure projects across Asia and beyond. The Sectors, Themes and Finance Solutions Department (STF) is pivotal in enhancing technical expertise and expanding financing knowledge across various sectors to support AIIB's investment operations. STF plays a crucial role in shaping the strategic direction of investment initiatives, focusing on innovative technologies, public-private partnerships (PPP) advisory, and other productive sectors. The department ensures alignment with the Bank's corporate strategy while supporting Client Departments in implementing relevant sectoral strategies to maximize developmental impact.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of new business lines, identifying innovative products and technologies that align with client needs and the Bank's mission.
  • Oversee the implementation of the newly approved Climate Policy-based Financing modality, collaborating closely with the core team.
  • Develop tailored solutions for specific sectors, clients, and projects that demonstrate AIIB's value proposition, including PPP advisory services and climate financing initiatives.
  • Provide technical and financial expertise to support project team leaders in structuring and executing new and existing products.
  • Coordinate the assignment of climate specialists to ensure compliance with AIIB's climate commitments during project preparation.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and instrument development, documenting lessons learned and best practices from investment operations.
  • Manage corporate communications regarding product offerings to effectively set client expectations.
  • Integrate industry research and trends with in-depth product analysis to enhance client engagement strategies.
  • Aggregate and disseminate operational knowledge on product performance and emerging solutions.
  • Establish key strategic metrics to guide the achievement of strategic objectives.
  • Supervise and mentor team members, providing support to the Director General of STF.

Qualifications:
  • Master's degree or equivalent in engineering, project management, or related fields.
  • At least 10 years of experience in multilateral development banks and a total of 20 years of international experience in project design and processing.
  • Strong understanding of procurement, safeguards, consultant recruitment, and project management, particularly in infrastructure operations.
  • Proven project management skills with the ability to lead initiatives independently and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with government officials, NGOs, technical specialists, and development partners.
  • Track record of delivering high-quality work with accountability and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • International experience in development across multiple countries.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, report-writing, and communication skills in English.
