Department Overview:
The Sectors, Themes and Finance Solutions Department (STF) is pivotal in fostering technical excellence and enhancing financing knowledge across various sectors. STF plays a proactive role in shaping AIIB's investment strategies, initiating innovative projects in frontier technologies, public-private partnerships (PPP) advisory, and other productive sectors. The department ensures alignment with the Bank's corporate strategy and supports Client Departments in implementing relevant sectoral strategies to maximize developmental impact. STF also represents AIIB in international forums, establishing the institution as a leading development partner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive the development of new business lines, identifying innovative products and technologies that fulfill client needs and align with the Bank's mission.
- Oversee the implementation of the newly approved Climate Policy-based Financing modality in collaboration with the core team.
- Develop tailored solutions for sectors, clients, and projects that demonstrate AIIB's value, including PPP advisory services and climate financing initiatives.
- Provide technical and financial expertise to support project team leaders in structuring and executing products.
- Coordinate the assignment of climate specialists to ensure compliance with AIIB's climate commitments.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing and instrument development, documenting lessons learned and best practices from investment operations.
- Manage corporate communications regarding products to effectively set client expectations.
- Integrate research on industry trends with product analysis to enhance client engagement.
- Lead the aggregation and dissemination of operational knowledge on products and emerging solutions.
- Establish key strategic metrics to guide the delivery of strategic objectives.
- Supervise and mentor team members, supporting the Director General of STF.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree or equivalent in engineering, project management, or related fields.
- At least 10 years of experience in multilateral development banks and a total of 20 years of international experience, including project design and processing.
- Strong understanding of procurement, safeguards, and project management, particularly in infrastructure operations.
- Excellent project management capabilities, with a proven ability to lead initiatives independently.
- Demonstrated experience in engaging with government officials and development partners.
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality work and meeting deadlines.
- International experience in development across multiple countries.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
