Position: Manager of Investment Solutions

The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) is a global development institution dedicated to financing sustainable infrastructure projects across Asia and beyond. Established in 2016, AIIB has expanded to 109 member countries and boasts a capital base of USD100 billion, maintaining a AAA rating from leading international credit agencies. The Sectors, Themes, and Finance Solutions Department (STF) is pivotal in fostering technical excellence and enhancing financing knowledge across various sectors. STF plays a crucial role in guiding AIIB's investment operations, initiating innovative projects in frontier technologies, public-private partnerships (PPP) advisory, and other productive sectors. The department ensures that investment operations align with the Bank's strategic objectives and supports Client Departments in implementing sectoral strategies to maximize developmental impact. STF also represents AIIB in international discussions, establishing the Bank as a leading development institution.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive the development of new business lines, identifying innovative products and technologies that align with client needs and the Bank's mission.
  • Oversee the implementation of the newly approved Climate Policy-based Financing approach, collaborating closely with the core team.
  • Develop tailored solutions for specific sectors, clients, and projects that demonstrate AIIB's value, including PPP advisory services and climate financing initiatives.
  • Provide technical and financial expertise to Project Team Leaders (PTLs) in structuring and executing both new and existing products.
  • Coordinate the assignment of climate specialists to ensure alignment with AIIB's climate commitments during project preparation.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and instrument development, capturing lessons learned and best practices from investment operations.
  • Lead the dissemination of knowledge regarding product performance and emerging solutions.
  • Manage corporate communications related to products to effectively set client expectations.
  • Supervise and mentor team members, supporting the Director General of STF.

Qualifications:
  • Master's degree or equivalent in engineering, project management, or related fields.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in multilateral development banks, with a total of 20 years in international development.
  • In-depth knowledge of procurement, safeguards, and project management, particularly in infrastructure operations.
  • Exceptional project management skills, with a proven ability to lead initiatives independently.
  • Strong results-oriented mindset, capable of meeting deadlines and solving complex problems.
  • Experience liaising with government officials, NGOs, and development partners.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality work with accountability.
  • International experience in development across multiple countries.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
