About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Policy and Change Manager to join our team at National Grid Electricity System Operator (ESO). As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of our energy system and driving positive change.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead on tactical initiatives, new policies, and code changes to improve the connections process.
  • Engage with external stakeholders, including Transmission Owners, Ofgem, and DESNZ, to develop and implement new policies and strategies.
  • Represent the ESO at industry forums and stakeholder events to provide updates on ESO-led initiatives and answer questions.
  • Write board-level papers on new policies and strategies.
  • Escalate and present key areas of concern to internal Steering Committees.
  • Manage customer queries related to complex new policies and code changes, which impact the Customer Connections team.
  • Support the connections reform team on implementing the connections reform project into the wider connections team.
  • Lead and develop a team of Policy and Change Officers.
  • Support wider connections teams with specific policies that improve the connections process.
