Senior Computational Biologist

You will be an experienced Bioinformatician, with roots in maths and statistics. Exposure to machine learning tools and frameworks will be necessary. You'll need to be well-versed in working with NGS data and developing bioinformatics tools for clinical interpretation. This role has a high level of impact, as you will be developing and implementing bioinformatics solutions across the whole product pipeline. You'll need to be a good communicator as you will be collaborating and working closely with multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities:- Developing and implementing novel mathematical models and statistical analyses for variant calling and detection of minimal residual disease
- Developing machine learning methods for improving probe efficiency and selectivity
- Providing insights into data that improves assay performance
- Developing high-quality code
- PhD in computational biology/bioinformatics/other related field
- Post-doc or industry experience post PhD
- Strong background in maths and statistics
- Experience working within Oncology
- Experience processing, analysing and interpreting NGS data
- Exposure to ML tools and frameworks (e.g. Tensorflow, Pytorch)
- Proficient programming skills (ideally Python)
- Familiarity with standard software engineering tools (Jira, Git, CI/CD)
- Experience using workflow management systems (Nextflow, Snakemake, WDL)
- Cloud computing experience (ideally AWS)
