Job Title: Senior Computational Biologist

You will be an experienced Bioinformatician with a strong background in maths and statistics. Exposure to machine learning tools and frameworks is necessary. You will need to be well-versed in working with NGS data and developing bioinformatics tools for clinical interpretation. This role has a high level of impact, as you will be developing and implementing bioinformatics solutions across the whole product pipeline. You will need to be a good communicator, as you will be collaborating and working closely with multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing and implementing novel mathematical models and statistical analyses for variant calling and detection of minimal residual disease
  • Developing machine learning methods for improving probe efficiency and selectivity
  • Providing insights into data that improves assay performance
  • Developing high-quality code
Ideal Candidate:
  • PhD in computational biology/bioinformatics/other related field
  • Post-doc or industry experience post PhD
  • Strong background in maths and statistics
  • Experience working within Oncology
  • Experience processing, analysing and interpreting NGS data
  • Exposure to ML tools and frameworks (e.g. Tensorflow, Pytorch)
  • Proficient programming skills (ideally Python)
  • Familiarity with standard software engineering tools (Jira, Git, CI/CD)
  • Experience using workflow management systems (Nextflow, Snakemake, WDL)
  • Cloud computing experience (ideally AWS)
