Old Age Psychiatrist

We are seeking highly skilled and experienced Old Age Consultant Psychiatrists to join our team at Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. As a Consultant Psychiatrist in Older Peoples Services, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and professional leadership to our medical team.
The successful applicant will have a CCT in Old Age Psychiatry or be gaining this within 3 months. You will have experience working within a range of older people's community services and possess excellent communication skills. You will also have experience working within an MDT and be able to provide clinical supervision to the medical team and wider MDT when required.
About the RoleThis is a 10 PA post plus a 1% category B availability for out of hours on-call duties. You will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic and enthusiastic multi-professional team focused on providing a wide range of services for older people within the Leeds area.
The new community post has been designed to reflect our aim to work towards new ways of working covering CMHT, Memory Assessment Service, Care Home Service, and the Intensive Home Treatment team. You will have considerable flexibility in terms of job planning and be able to focus on specific aspects of community care.

Job ResponsibilitiesIn addition to medical expertise, the successful applicant will provide professional leadership, including clinical supervision to the medical team working within the service and clinical supervision to the wider MDT when required. They will also have designated training responsibilities for junior doctors and engage within the trusts Clinical Governance structure.
- CCT in Old Age psychiatry, or gaining this within 3 months
- Experience working within a range of older people's community services
- Evidence of excellent communication skills
- Evidence of experience working within an MDT
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
