Position Overview

This role presents a distinctive and engaging opportunity for a proactive and dedicated individual to become a vital member of the Research Team at Layton Medical Centre. The centre is recognized for its excellence in conducting late Phase II/III clinical trials across various primary care specialties.

As a Clinical Research Coordinator, you will thrive in a dynamic environment where our research participants are central to our mission. While prior experience in a clinical research setting is advantageous, it is not a prerequisite.

The Clinical Research Coordinator will play a crucial role within the Research Team, which includes Principal Investigators, a Chief Operating Officer, a Research Governance Manager, Research Nurses, and Administrative staff. You will be expected to exhibit initiative, meticulous attention to detail, and precision in your work, undertaking a diverse array of responsibilities pertinent to the role. Your efforts will ensure that high-quality clinical research is consistently conducted, with a focus on participant welfare.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Understanding and adhering to all clinical research study protocols related to patient management, data collection, and safety reporting.
  • Supporting specific components of study execution following appropriate training and delegation from the Principal Investigator, which may include conducting study assessments.
  • Exhibiting exceptional communication skills to assist study participants throughout their clinical trial experience, particularly through follow-up communications.
  • Building collaborative relationships with participants, the research team, monitors, Clinical Research Associates (CRAs), and study sponsors.
  • Managing complex data daily, facilitating data collection and management activities using various data management systems.
  • Overseeing the collection, processing, and shipping of biological samples in accordance with study protocols, while maintaining accurate records.
  • Designing and creating study worksheets as per the requirements of the study protocols.

The role requires ensuring that all clinical research activities comply with ICH GCP standards and are conducted according to established protocols, while remaining informed about advancements in research practices.
