Position Summary:
We are seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager (CAPEX & Operations UK Indirect Procurement) to oversee a complex area of expenditure. This role involves formulating comprehensive category strategies and fostering collaborative relationships with key stakeholders.

Work Arrangement:
This position offers a hybrid work model with flexibility in office locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Spend Management:
    Develop and execute category strategies for critical spending areas in alignment with Business Units and Group Service functions.
  • Policy Compliance:
    Ensure adherence to procurement policies, processes, and compliance regulations.
  • Product Launch Support:
    Assist in new product introductions within Business Units, contributing to strategic initiatives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    Deliver insights and recommendations to Business Units, presenting data analysis and market intelligence to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Supplier Relationship Management:
    Establish a supplier engagement strategy to meet agreed KPIs and enhance sustainable value.
  • Expertise Development:
    Possess significant experience in Utilities procurement or other data-intensive procurement categories, with a focus on Foodstuffs, FMCG, or similar operational procurement.
  • Cost Management:
    Understand business requirements and cost drivers, challenging specifications and operational methods to maximize procurement value.
  • Project Management:
    Exhibit strong project management capabilities, driving team actions and delivering sourcing events within defined timelines.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    Conduct ongoing efficiency reviews within the function and Business Units, creating actionable plans with clear accountability and timelines.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Procurement.
  • Specialized knowledge in energy, utilities, chemicals, waste management, and packaging recycling is advantageous.
  • Ability to translate strategies into actionable plans.
  • Strong communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • Excellent data interpretation and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in moderation and presentation.
  • Competent project management skills, with the ability to lead project teams as necessary.
  • Advanced project management skills are desirable.
