Müller Yogurt & Desserts stands as the UK's foremost yogurt manufacturer, dedicated to creating countless memorable moments for consumers. This division is responsible for major brands such as Müller Corner, Müllerlight, Müller Bliss, Müller Rice, FRijj, and Müller Kefir Smoothie, and it produces chilled desserts under license from Mondelez International. Additionally, it supplies the UK private label yogurt market from a state-of-the-art yogurt facility.


Position Overview:

We are seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager to oversee a complex area of expenditure, developing comprehensive category strategies and fostering active collaboration with key stakeholders. This role offers a hybrid working arrangement.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage designated expenditure areas.
  • Develop and execute category strategies for critical spending areas in alignment with Business Units and Group Service functions.
  • Ensure adherence to procurement policies, processes, and compliance regulations.
  • Support the launch of new products within Business Units, participating in strategic initiatives.
  • Engage in stakeholder management by creating and presenting recommendations to business units.
  • Deliver key insights and updates to stakeholders, utilizing data analysis and market intelligence to facilitate effective planning and decision-making.
  • Implement a supplier relationship strategy to meet agreed KPIs and cultivate sustainable value.
  • Provide subject matter expertise, particularly in Utilities procurement or similarly data-intensive categories, with experience in Foodstuffs, FMCG, or related operational procurement.
  • Possess a clear understanding of business requirements and cost drivers, capable of challenging specifications and operational methods to enhance value from a procurement perspective.
  • Exhibit strong project management capabilities, driving action from project teams and delivering sourcing events within defined timelines.
  • Conduct continuous improvement and efficiency reviews within the function and business units, establishing action plans with clear accountabilities and timelines.

Key Skills and Experience:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Procurement.
  • Specialized knowledge and experience in categories such as energy, utilities, chemicals, waste management, and packaging recycling are advantageous.
  • Ability to translate strategies and decisions into actionable plans.
  • Strong communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • Excellent data interpretation and analysis capabilities.
  • Proficient moderation and presentation skills.
  • Competent project management skills, with the ability to lead project teams as necessary.
  • Advanced project management skills are desirable.
