We are seeking a highly skilled procurement professional to join our team at Pod Talent as a Strategic Buyer: Chemicals. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract with a strong possibility of becoming permanent.
**About the Role:**
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading chemicals procurement projects across the UK, designing sustainable and resilient category strategies, and driving key value creation initiatives. This role sits within our global procurement hub, which provides strategic oversight for all group procurement and designs sourcing processes and implements innovative new procurement strategies across Europe.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Develop and implement procurement strategies for chemicals across the UK
- Lead sourcing projects and design elements of procurement projects
- Collaborate with stakeholders and suppliers to ensure cost-effective and sustainable procurement
- Design and implement long-term sourcing strategies
- Deliver procurement projects alongside the wider team
**Requirements:**
- Experience within direct sourcing, ideally within a chemical manufacturing, agricultural, pharmaceutical, or ingredients-led business
- Previous experience leading sourcing projects and designing elements of procurement projects
- Strong communication and influencing skills
