Utilities Inspection Assistant

RPS Group is pleased to announce an opportunity for a Utilities Inspection Assistant within our Asset Management division. This role involves evaluating and providing insights on the condition of assets and infrastructure, contributing to the objectives of our Water Consulting Business Stream throughout the UK.

About The Team:

The RPS Water Consulting team comprises Engineers, Modellers, and Data Analysts dedicated to developing Asset Management and Operational Strategies for our clients in the Water Industry. This dynamic field presents challenges and opportunities that demand innovation, commitment, and teamwork to effectively address our clients' requirements.

Our Water Consultancy business is engaged in a variety of prestigious AMP8 programs, paving the way for AMP9 and beyond, ensuring a stable career trajectory for the next two decades while leaving a lasting impact.

About You:

As an integral member of the Water Consultancy team, your position as Utilities Inspection Assistant is vital in delivering outstanding projects for our Water Industry clients. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of water project specialists on various capital delivery initiatives.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Conduct inspections and provide reports on Water and Sewage Infrastructure Assets.
  • Document Inspection Reports comprehensively.
  • Gather features and pertinent information regarding health & safety measures and structural conditions.
  • Perform additional tasks to fulfill team objectives within the Asset Management framework.
  • Adhere to established policies and procedures.
  • Achieve KPIs and contribute to business growth.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
  • Experience in Civil/Structural Engineering Inspection and Water site operations is preferred.
  • Understanding of health and safety culture and its practical application.
  • Experience in inspecting structural elements, pipe bridges, and tunnels along pipelines is advantageous.
  • Civil/Structural Engineering Inspection expertise from other utilities will be considered.
  • Proficiency in IT is essential, as all inspection reporting is conducted electronically, along with familiarity with the MS 365 suite.
  • A solution-oriented and collaborative mindset is crucial.
