CFD/Simulation Team Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior CFD/Simulation Engineer to join our team at Wärtsilä Corporation. As a key member of our Methods, Tools, and Processes team, you will be responsible for leading the Computer Fluid Dynamics (CFD)/simulation function within the business.
Key Responsibilities- Technical Leadership
- Develop and implement CFD/simulation methodologies and tools to enhance engineering processes.
- Provide expert technical support and coaching to other teams within the business.
- Lead the development of knowledge-based tools and promote CFD/simulation capability within the organization.
- Project Management
- Manage projects related to CFD/simulation, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
- Apply appropriate planning and risk management processes to ensure project objectives are met.
- Collaboration and Communication
- Work closely with the Systems and Design teams to address CFD requirements related to our projects.
- Liaise with main project stakeholders, internal and external, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Professional Development
- Mentor junior members of the team and support their professional growth.
- Ensure that self and other team members develop and maintain world-leading skills and competencies.
- Education
- Degree BEng (Hons) in Mechanical, Electrical, Naval, Chemical, Aerospace, or other Engineering or Scientific disciplines (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Computing).
- CEng or working towards.
- Experience
- Working experience in the field of Engineering, especially Mechanical, Electrical, Maritime. Other relevant industry experience will be considered.
- Must be eligible for SC level clearance.
- Skills
- Strong technical knowledge of CFD/simulation and its applications in engineering.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
