About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist to join our Trauma and Orthopaedics team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a Clinical Lead, you will be responsible for providing clinical leadership to the Trauma and Orthopaedics Occupational Therapy service, managing a team of 8 staff members, and contributing to the overall Occupational Therapy strategy for the Denmark Hill site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical leadership to the Trauma and Orthopaedics Occupational Therapy service, ensuring a high-quality, evidence-based, and efficient service.
  • Manage a complex clinical caseload, including assessment, diagnosis, and management of patients with trauma and orthopaedic conditions.
  • Supervise, train, and provide day-to-day management to occupational therapists and assistants working within the Trauma and Orthopaedics service.
  • Liaise with the service manager, therapy lead, and trauma and orthopaedic service consultants to agree protocols and care pathways for patient assessment and management.
  • Provide advice and support to occupational therapy colleagues on clinical practice issues and service development initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Experience in Trauma and Orthopaedics at Band 7 and above.
  • Highly specialist knowledge and skills in trauma and orthopaedics, with the ability to manage and support others to manage a complex clinical caseload.
  • Excellent analytical and judgement skills, with the ability to diagnose occupational difficulties and develop effective interventions.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to supervise and train staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
