About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Healthcare Assistant to join our team at St Andrews Healthcare, a leading mental health charity in the UK. As a Physical Healthcare Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality physical healthcare services to patients with challenging behaviors.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive physical healthcare services to patients, including wound care and health promotion.
  • Collaborate with senior clinicians to deliver physical healthcare services and develop treatment plans.
  • Develop and promote skills to staff as appropriate, ensuring a high standard of care is maintained.
  • Advocate for good health and wellbeing, promoting a patient-centered approach to care.

Person Specification:

  • Prior experience in ECG acquisition, venepuncture, and immunisations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and clear, concise written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of IT and ability to work semi-autonomously within a team environment.
  • Self-motivated and able to demonstrate the ability to provide high standards of care.
  • Knowledge and experience of working with challenging patient groups (advantageous).
