Position Overview
We are looking for a dedicated Office Technical Specialist who will play a crucial role in providing expert technical advice and support to our operational teams. This position is essential for making informed decisions regarding urgent tasks within the Waste Networks at Thames Water.

Key Responsibilities
  • Authorize and oversee both scheduled and emergency work for the waste network, ensuring a balance between operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage both urgent and complex planned technical operations to optimize effectiveness while minimizing impact on customers.
  • Deliver technical support related to Waste Networks to a diverse range of stakeholders through various communication channels.
  • Assist field teams in achieving a 'first time fix' wherever feasible.
  • Support field teams during various incidents such as pollution events, flooding, blockages, and infrastructure failures by ensuring proper triage and providing relevant advice.
  • This role involves a hybrid work arrangement, including both remote work and time spent in the Customer Solutions Centre.
  • Opportunities to collaborate in field offices will be available to foster relationships and enhance knowledge with field teams.
  • Work schedule consists of 36 hours per week, including a mix of early, mid, late, and weekend shifts.
Qualifications
  • Familiarity with drainage and waste networks is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Minimum educational requirement is A level or equivalent experience.
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety regulations.
  • A proactive attitude with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Proven ability to build effective stakeholder relationships.
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ownership of issues and commitment to resolution.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring all information is accurately recorded and of high quality.
  • Proficient in using relevant IT systems and office software, as this is an office-based role.
  • A track record of achieving outstanding results.
