Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and proficient Clinical Radiographer to become a vital member of our Neuroradiology team at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This role presents an exceptional opportunity to engage in MRI practices within a specialized healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will possess a patient-focused mindset and demonstrate effective communication skills. Collaboration within a multidisciplinary team, including undergraduates, trainee radiologists, surgeons, and junior radiographers, is essential, making strong teaching abilities a key requirement.

Departmental Highlights

The Neuroradiology Department provides a comprehensive array of services, including interventional procedures, 3T MRI, CT imaging, angiography, and standard radiography. We are currently enhancing our facilities with the latest technology, having recently integrated a dual-energy CT scanner, three MRI machines, and two advanced angiography suites. An innovative intraoperative MRI suite is also in the process of being established.

Training and Development

Our department is committed to the professional growth of our radiographers, offering an extensive MRI training program designed to enhance existing skills. Continuous Professional Development (CPD) is actively supported, ensuring all staff members have access to resources for their ongoing education.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Delivering high-quality imaging services to support Neurology and Neurosurgery.
  • Ensuring patient safety and care standards are upheld.
  • Collaborating with various modalities to optimize room usage and patient prioritization.
  • Maintaining accurate data records in PACS and Electronic Health Records (EHR) to ensure data integrity.
  • Participating in departmental initiatives related to Health and Safety, Clinical Governance, and quality improvement.

Person Specification

Essential Qualifications:

  • DCR, BSc in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent
  • Health Professions Council (HPC) State Registration
  • Strong educational background
  • Evidence of Continuous Professional Development (CPD)

Desirable Experience:

  • Previous experience within the NHS
  • Certification in the administration of intravenous injections

Essential Experience:

  • Experience working within the NHS

Desirable Skills:

  • Proficiency in various imaging modalities, particularly CT and Angiography
  • Experience in MRI techniques and Neuroradiography
  • Advanced knowledge in MRI methodologies
  • Significant post-graduate experience with demonstrable specialist knowledge

Essential Skills:

  • Computer literacy and proficiency in relevant software
